This editorial focuses on the quiet, often overlooked world of a young housewife living in the shadow of the 1960s “American Dream”- an ideal that, for many Eastern Europeans in the ’80s and ’90s, felt like the promise of something better. The story centers on a marriage that looks perfect from the outside but feels empty within. It’s a portrait of illusions lost, and of someone trying to reclaim freedom in the only spaces left to her.
